                                                    John Evered M.D.
                                                    Dr. John Evered is a neonatologist practicing in Bend, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington.  He graduated with honors in 1987 from Whitman College.  He attended Tulane Medical School where he received his MD and Master’s in Public Health, and received the Robert D. Baird Award.  He completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of California at San Francisco, where he was given a Housestaff Teaching Award in 1998.  He practiced general pediatrics at Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) in Bend from 1999-2008.  He was Chief of Pediatrics at St. Charles Medical Center from 2001-2003 and COPA’s Managing Partner from 2004-2006.   From 2006-2008 he was a fellow in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.  For his research on prevention of intraventricular hemorrhage in premature newborns, he was awarded an OHSU GME Humanitarian Award in 2008.  His research on vertical suspension liquid incubation in premature newborns was awarded first place in the 2008 OHSU Human Investigations Program Research Symposium.   He is married to Anne Marie Evered and has two daughters, Molly and Rachel.  They divide their time between Bend and Portland. 
                                                      
                                                    Caroline Skidmore, M.S. CCC-SLP
                                                    Caroline Skidmore is a Speech-Language Pathologist who began her clinical career in 1996. Caroline received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology with an Early Childhood Special Education endorsement from the University of Oregon. She is certified by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and licensed by the state of Oregon.  Caroline has focused her career exclusively on children and specializes in working with children with genetic syndromes and autism. She has participated in a variety of post-graduate training programs including the Hanen Parent Training Program, PROMPT, Relationship Development Intervention, DIR/Floor Time, Pivotal Response Training, and the Social Thinking Curriculum. Caroline has operated Skidmore Speech and Language Services, LLC in Bend since 2002. Prior to starting her own practice, Caroline worked for the Hearing and Speech Institute in Portland, Oregon and Clackamas County Early Intervention program. Skidmore Speech and Language Services provide both evaluation and therapy for children with a variety of speech and language disorders and delays. Caroline enjoys working closely with families and other professionals to provide a “whole child” treatment model.
                                                     
                                                    Melissa Bailey
                                                    Melissa Bailey is a Commercial Real Estate Broker with Fratzke Commercial Real Estate Advisors in Bend, Oregon.  Melissa has provided support to several different nonprofits over the years including three years as Treasurer for the Santa Barbara Outrigger Canoe Club.  She also currently serves as a member of the NeighborImpact Resource Development Board.   When Melissa was three, her brother Michael was born with Down syndrome.  Melissa and her family have always been very involved in Michael’s personal development and Michael is currently a spokesman for the Special Olympics.  Melissa is excited to support and see the Central Oregon Down Syndrome Network grow and succeed in assisting the families in our community.

                                                    Anne-Marie Daggett
                                                    Co-owner of the marketing dept., an outsourced marketing services company located in Bend.  Anne-Marie has several years of previous non-profit board experience.

                                                    Heather Hoyt, M.Ed.
                                                    Heather Hoyt is a Child Development and Learning Specialist.  She has worked in the area of early intervention services and special education for the past 11 years and completed her Masters Degree in Education in 2006. Subsequently, Heather began working in private practice to assist families in enhancing their child’s developmental, behavioral, and academic success. Heather is trained in Orton-Gillingham-based approaches for language and literacy and works closely with experts at the Bend Learning Center.

                                                    Heather’s clinical expertise includes working with children with specific learning disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Disorder. She also specializes in social mentoring and curriculum building for teens and runs her own program in Central Oregon called Teen Strength Discovery. 

                                                    Heather resides in Bend, and has become an expert on identifying support services across the Central Oregon region that serves families with children ages birth through adolescence.
