Buddy Walk

The 2010 3rd annual Central Oregon Buddy Walk is one of more than 275 Buddy Walks planned in cities across the country to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October. The Buddy Walk was established by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to promote acceptance and inclusion of all people with Down syndrome.

Our Buddy Walk takes place Saturday, October 2nd, rain or shine, and features a BRAND NEW EVENT! The Buddy Token Run.  Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the run beginning at 10 a.m.  Walk Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the one-mile Walk kicks off at 11 a.m. Following the Walk, participants will enjoy an afternoon of fun and celebration with live entertainment, music, games, raffle, clown, face painting, bounce house, refreshments, BBQ lunch and more.

Celebrity guests will include:

• Tom and Bryan Lambke -- Bryan is a 28-year-old with Down syndrome who's accomplishments include participation in the World Down Syndrome Games and a co-author of  "I Just Am" with his father Tom.
• A live performance by Janellybean
• Cheerleading squads from around Central Oregon
• Skip Taylor - morning personality on KMGX-FM MIX 100.7
