We always welcome families to contact us directly for any kind of support, but here we are putting together some online resources surrounding grief and loss that may also be helpful.

The Dougy Center: The national center for grieving children and families - a Portland based organization that offers articles, tip sheets, a pod cast and help finding local support.
Sesame Street in Communities - Elmo and his dad talk about being sad and missing someone, also lots of activities, videos and articles
Psychology Today article - some do's and don'ts for supporting kids
The Compassionate Friends - an international support organization for families who have lost a child, there is a local chapter in Bend that is based out of Partners in Care.
Brene Brown - research professor at the University of Houston, the Huffington Endowed Chair. She's spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. This specific page links to different books regarding grief. The website overall has many good resources.
